About
My name is Michal Bergman and I specialize in consulting, guidance and finding the right housing solutions for self-employed, nursing, exhausted and mentally disabled seniors.
I have a degree in social work and criminology, with specialization in treatment and rehabilitation and have an experience of over 12 years in the area – during which I was part of finding solutions to hundreds of families.
During my work, I gained a lot of experience, knowledge, tools and ties, which enable me to provide a full package of services for seniors and their family members.
I am compassion and understanding, since the elders and their families are often dealing with difficulties and fear from the changes they are facing.
For these reasons, my primary goal is to listen to them, calm them, and try to make some sense in the chaos they feel they are in and, of course, understand all of their demands and needs.
Based on this information, I build with them, a custom program.
The service that I provide is free of charge, and I am available all through the day, including the late hours of the night, weekends and holidays.
The consulting process
All of the services that I provide, are basically a joint path in which the patient, his family members, and I are walking in.
We start with initial introduction and gathering all the required information, then we continue with understanding the relevant options, familiarity with the rights and obtaining them until finding the most suitable housing solution, to the satisfaction of all involved – it is important for me to emphasize, that even after finding the right solution, I am still keeping contact with the family, in order to assist and make sure that they are satisfied over time.
In order to provide the most comprehensive and professional service package, I work with a team of skilled, experienced and reliable group of experts.
As part of the service, I give full attention to the following variables:
- The medical and personal condition of the senior
- His functional settings (self-employed, exhausted, nursing, mentally disabled)
- His economic condition
- The relevant housing framework (at home or outside)
- The rights he is entitled to
- The ways to exercise these rights
On a personal note
The prevailing opinion is that the professional choice of person isn't by change – and I can attest to that firsthand.
I am aware of the difficulty and the helplessness that is part of the unfamiliar and making a change in housing and life style.
I know how difficult it is for the children to accept the fact that they reached the stage where the roles reverse and the knowledge that from now on they are the ones who should take care of their parents.
It is important for me to treat every person that I am assisting as the individual he is, getting acquainted with him not only through form or medical terminology (although they are an important part of the service that I provide), but also his familiar life style, his hobbies, and of course feelings, concerns and expectations – this acquaintance of the person and his family members as well as the nursing homes and relevant facilities, are what enable me to provide the best and highest quality of assistance, and for personally this is a great privilege.
